Ontario OINP 2022 Base PNP draws ITAs and cut off updates

When it comes to the list of Canada’s most famous Canadian immigration pathways the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) gets second place behind the Express Entry (EE) System. The PNP system was introduced in 1998. So, all participating provinces and territories (except Quebec and Nunavut) get to share the benefits of immigration.

As a result, participating provinces and territories get to nominate the applicant(s) who can add to their economic growth. The following is the list of PNPs available:

  • Alberta – Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)
  • British Columbia – British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)
  • Manitoba – Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
  • New Brunswick – New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NB PNP)
  • New Foundland and Labrador – New Foundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NL PNP)
  • Northwest Territories – Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP)
  • Nova Scotia – Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)
  • Ontario – Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)
  • Prince Edward Island – Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)
  • Saskatchewan – Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)
  • Yukon – Yukon Nominee Program (YNP)

Besides, each year, the number of people entering Canada via the PNP route is increasing majorly. This is because the applicants can apply to a specific province/territory where they wish to live, work and settle. Also, applying through the PNP pathway is one of the easiest ways towards getting permanent residence in Canada.

How to apply to  Canada’s PNP pathway?

Under the PNP banner, each province/territory has 2 types of PNP pathways such as:

Express Entry linked PNP streams

As the name suggests the Express Entry PNP streams are the ones that are linked to the Express Entry (EE) System. Thus, if you wish to apply to such a stream then you must meet the following terms:

  • Have an active EE profile.
  • Have applied to 1 of the EE sub-streams such as the:
    • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
    • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
    • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Further, you must apply to an EE-linked PNP sub-stream.
    • But you must meet the eligibility terms to apply for the same.
  • The province/territory you apply to holds periodic draws for PNP nomination.
    • When you clear the same you will get an ITA to submit a complete and error-free PNP application.
  • After the successful processing of your PNP application, you will get a Provincial Nomination Certificate (PNC).
  • And once you get a PNC against your EE profile you will get an extra 600 CRS score.
    • This score will be added to your overall CRS rank in the EE pool.
    • And increases your chances of getting an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada PR.
  • Finally, after getting an ITA for PR you must submit your PR visa application within 60 days of getting an ITA.
  • At last, upon successful processing of your application, you will get a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).

Base PNP streams

These are the PNP streams that are independent and are not linked to the EE System. So, to apply you must do the following:

  • Choose the base PNP stream that applies to your case. And if you qualify to apply for the same.
  • Provinces and territories have a lot of base PNP categories and sub-streams.
    • Thus, you must apply to the one that best applies to you.
  • Apply to the PNP and get an ITA in the PNP draw.
  • Upon successful processing of your PNP application, you will get a Provincial Nomination Certificate (PNC).
  • Finally, with a PNC you can apply to IRCC for getting permanent residence in Canada.

As a result, according to your Canada immigration plan, you must apply to a PNP pathway which increases your chances of getting a Canada PR visa.
