Ontario announces changes to OINP International Student Stream

In one of a kind move, for the first time, Ontario announces changes to OINP International Student Stream. The new changes to the OINP Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream, comes as a surprise for all. As of now, OINP is raising its eligibility criteria to accept people with a 1-year graduate certificate program from Ontario.

Earlier applicants could apply if they have a bachelor’s degree as an admission requirement to a 1-year certificate program. With the new change, a higher number of applicants will now qualify with a 1-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate. This opens vast opportunities for applicants who wish to move to Canada via the OINP PNP pathway.

The OINP Employer Job Offer: International Student stream helps the province select applicants who:

  • Firstly, have a job offer from Ontario.
  • Secondly, their job offer is for an eligible occupation (TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3).
  • Also, have the following educational credentials:
    • Get a two-year undergraduate degree or diploma by studying full-time at a Canadian school.
    • Go for a full-time graduate degree or diploma for at least a year at a Canadian school.
    • Finish a one-year full-time college certificate program at an Ontario school.
    • Complete a one-year full-time university certificate program at an Ontario school.
  • Also, your Ontario employer and job offer must qualify as well.
  • Besides, have a license for applicable job profiles.
  • Must maintain legal status at the time of applying – Valid Visitor Visa, Study Visa, or Work Permit.
  • Moreover, show a connection with Ontario via study, work, family ties or visits etc.
  • Besides, after selection, applicants can apply for a Canada Work Permit and PR visa.
