NOIs fall again in new Ontario Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream draw
The latest Ontario OINP draw was held on Feb 10, 2023. And we see NOIs fall again in new Ontario Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream draw. 466 applicants who match or exceed the CRS cut-off of 260-489 have an ITA in this draw. Also, the current draw is a targeted draw and selected applicants whose job profiles come under 1 of the 41 eligible skilled trades occupations.
Also, applicants who have an ITA in this draw created their profiles between February 10, 2022 – February 10, 2023.
Moreover, Feb 10, 2023, OINP draw, is the third such draw of 2023 for the OINP Skilled Trades Category. And we can see a consistent fall in invitations for PNP nominations since the beginning of these draws on Jan 13, 2023.
The table below shows that fall in NOIs and the CRS cut-off as well:
Date | NOIs Issued | CRS Cut-off |
Jan-13-2023 | 1252 | 336-506 |
Feb-09-2023 | 510 | 260-489 |
Feb-10-2023 | 466 | 260-489 |
Even though the NOIs are falling consecutively, we can also see the fall in the CRS cut-off. Thus, this is a positive outlook at the promise of a rise in the selection of applicants for PNP nomination in upcoming draws.
How to get a PNP nomination from Ontario?
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is Ontario’s pathway for selecting foreign skilled workers. By doing so the province can meet its rising job vacancies and grow its economy. If you have the right skills to fill in the vacant job positions, then you will get a nomination under OINP.
Also, OINP is linked to the Express Entry (EE) System. This means there are enhanced PNPs that you can apply to get a PNP nomination from Ontario. To do the same you must apply to 1 of the following OINP Express Entry sub-streams:
- Human Capital Priorities Stream
- Skilled Trades Stream
- French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
Besides, apart from meeting eligibility factors for any 1 of the above sub-streams, you must primarily have a valid and active Express Entry (EE) profile.
So, if you wish to apply to the OINP Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream then you must meet eligibility terms such as:
- Have a valid EE profile by applying to 1 of the EE sub-streams:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- Also, meet Human Capital Factors such as:
- Age
- Education
- Work Experience
- Language Skills
- Besides, apply to the OINP Skilled Trades Stream.
- Further, match or exceed the draw cut-off.
- Finally, get an NOI for the PNP nomination.
What to do next after getting an NOI in an OINP Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream draw?
Once you get a Notification of Interest (NOI) for a PNP nomination, submit a complete and error-free PNP application to OINP. After successful application processing, you will get a provincial nomination certificate. As you will get a nomination certificate against your Express Entry (EE) profile, your CRS rank in the EE pool will get a boost of extra 600 CRS points.
Thus, as IRCC holds periodic Express Entry draws, your chances of getting an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to submit a Canada PR application goes up.
