New Caregiver Pilot Programs To Offer Canada PR

Breaking News: IRCC announces New Caregiver Pilot Programs To Offer Canada PR on arrival. This is the best news for caregivers who wish to settle in Canada permanently.

Canada plans to offer Canada PR to 15,000 caregivers as per its Immigration Levels Plan 2024-25. By April 30, 2024, it has offer PR visas to 5,700 caregivers and their families. However, IRCC is introducing new caregiver pilot programs as the current Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot will expire by June 17.

The new caregiver pilot programs are a boon to caregivers. As the earlier pilot programs strongly emphasised:

  • Higher language skills (CLB 5),
  • Prior work experience (minimum 6 months),
  • 1 year post-secondary education.

However, as per the new caregiver pilot program applicants:

  • Firstly, must have a language skill level of CLB 4.
  • Secondly, have a high school diploma or equal educational credential.
  • Also, have relevant and immediate experience.
  • Besides, have a home caregiver job offer (full-time and paid).
  • Moreover, qualifying caregivers will get Canada PR visa on arrival.

The Canadian federal government is introducing new caregiver pilot programs for Canada PR because:

  • Firstly, there is a huge demand for caregivers in Canada.
  • Secondly, Canada is expecting nearly 6 million people to retire in the next 6 years.
  • Also, many caregivers currently working are reaching above 65 years of age.
    • As a result, they too need care as senior caregivers.

In addition, as per the 3-year job projections by Job Bank Canada, the following provinces. territories will have a high demand for caregivers:

  • High Demand – Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Ontario
  • Good Demand – Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, Saskatchewan and Yukon territory.
  • Moderate Demand – Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and British Columbia.
