IRCC to Start Processing Express Entry PR Applications Within 6 Months

Canada is set to start all Express Entry (EE) draws. Also, IRCC will resume processing of applications within 6 months. As was the case before the pandemic hit the country.

This a great news for people who wish to immigrate to Canada soon. Because the Express Entry (EE) System is not just the most popular Canadian immigration system but also the channel that selects the higher number of people for Canada PR. And such has been the case since Jan 2015.

The highest number of Invitation to Apply (ITA) has been issued as the following:

All program draw: Dec 23, 2020 – 5000 ITAs with CRS score set at 468.
Canadian Experience Class draw: Feb 13, 2021 – 27,332 ITAs with CRS score set at 75.
Federal Skilled Trades draw: Oct 16, 2019 – 500 ITAs with CRS score set at 357.
Provincial Nominee Program: Feb 16, 2022 – 1082 ITAs with CRS score set 710.

However, except for the EE PNP draws, the following category draws are paused:

All program draw – Dec 23, 2022.
CEC draw – Sep 14, 2021.
FST draw – Aug 06, 2020.

But that is all about to change now.

If you wish to settle in Canada then you must apply to the Express Entry (EE) System. To do the same you need to do the following:

Apply to 1 of the EE sub-streams such as:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Also, meet Human Capital Factors:
- Age
- Education
- Work Experience
- Language Skills
When IRCC holds a periodic draw, match the qualifying CRS cut-off.

Once you get an ITA for qualifying for a draw, you will have 60 days to submit a complete Canadian permanent resident visa application. IRCC will process your application and if you qualify you will get a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).
