IRCC invites 150 agriculture and agrifood profiles in Express Entry draw

Canada immigration 2024 updates: IRCC invites 150 agriculture and agrifood profiles in Express Entry draw. The First Express Entry category-based draw for agriculture and agri-food occupations was held on Feb 16, 2024.

The details of the current draw are:

  • Firstly, 150 applicants have an ITA to apply for a Canada PR visa.
  • Secondly, either exceed or match the CRS cut-off of 437.
  • Also, the tie-breaking rule set for this draw is January 29, 2024, at 03:32:58 UTC.

Besides, the current draw is the first Express Entry category-based draw for agriculture and agri-food occupations. But in comparison to the last such draw of Dec 21, 2023, we see the following updates:

  • Firstly, 250 fewer agriculture and agrifood profiles have an ITA.
  • Secondly, the CRS cut-off is up by 51 points.

In addition, when we look at the first such draw of 2023, held on Sep 28, 2023, we see the current draw:

  • Firstly, selected 450 fewer applicants.
  • Secondly, the CRS cut-off is higher by 83 points.

In such a case anyone will look at the rising CRS cut-off and lowering ITAs for Canada PR. However, one must also note that the current draw is just the 3rd Express Entry draw for agriculture and agri-food occupations. Since the beginning of such draws on June 28, 2023.

As a result, in the upcoming draws, we should expect the invitations for Canada PR to go up. Looking at the overall demand in Canada, these profiles do enjoy a higher demand. So, if your occupation falls under this category then apply for permanent residency now.
