104 Invitations sent to Immigration candidates under PEI PNP

The provincial government of PEI invites 104 immigration candidates, under PEI PNP. 

On a draw held on May 16, 104 candidates were given an invitation under PEI PNP. To brief, under PEI PNP, the candidate can apply for a PEI Express Entry nomination for permanent residency through the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).  Moreover, PEI PNP nominates a certain number of candidates who the provincial government thinks that they can meet the local labor market needs.

PEI PNP has 3 categories:

1. Express Entry
2. Labour Impact
3. Business Impact

Under PEI PNP, the candidate can apply for Express Entry nomination for Canadian Permanent residency under the PEI PNP.

Given below is the break-up of the Invitations :

1. 90 Invitations include both Express entry and Labor Impact category candidates.
2. 14 to business Impact category candidates.

However, there is a condition under PEI PNP, in order to receive an invitation, the submission of Expression of Interest to the PEI PNP is a must.

The Express entry system

The Express entry system manages the pool of candidates from three High Skilled Economic Class Immigration categories:

1. the federal skilled worker class.
2. Federal Skilled Trades Class.
3. Canadian Experience class.

The ranking is given to candidates on a total score out of 100. Following are the factors:

1. Education
2. Skilled work experience
3. Proficiency in English or French

Furthermore, high-scoring candidates are usually sent an invitation to apply for the Canadian permanent residence. Notably, candidates receiving nomination under PEI PNP are given an additional 600 points under the CRS score.

Therefore, guaranteeing the invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence in the Express Entry Draw.

Surprisingly, a job offer letter is not necessary, however, preference will be given to the candidates who are living and working in the province.

Labor Impact Category

To explain, The Labour Impact Category provides migrants a valid job offer and support from a PEI employer with a pathway to Canadian permanent residence.

To enumerate, the Labor Impact category has three streams:

1. Skilled Worker
2. Critical worker
3. International Graduate

Significantly, the Canadian federal department of Immigration is responsible for the processing of the application of Labor Impact category.

Business Impact Category

To explain, the Business Impacts allows the candidate to own and run a business in PEI Province.

If the application is meeting the conditions as per the performance agreement of PEI govt, the applicant can apply for Canadian permanent residence. On a positive note, The lowest score under the Business Impact was 107.
