Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot

The Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot helps caregivers and their families to get Canada PR. If you have a job offer for the position of caregiver in Canada or have work experience in Canada as a caregiver, then you can apply for permanent residence. in Canada. 


Who can Apply?

To work as a caregiver in Canada, do the following:

  • Firstly, meet the terms of the program the applicant chooses to apply for:
    • Home Childcare Provider
    • Home Support Worker Pilot
  • Secondly, have a valid job offer in:
    • Home child care provider – NOC 4411
    • Home support worker – NOC 4412
  • Further, apply as per qualifying work experience:
    • No experience
    • Less than 24 months
    • Equal to or more than 24 months

Besides, under these pilots, the applicant if selected will get an occupation restricted open work permit to work temporarily in Canada. Also, this work permit:

  • Is occupation-restricted (applicant must work in a specific occupation)
  • No need for Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)
  • Also, helps to get work experience to apply for permanent residence

Note

If an applicant has already worked in Canada as a caregiver, their work experience will also be counted towards their Canada PR eligibility.

Qualifying work experience

Applicants with 0 work experience

To qualify, meet other terms such as:

  • Have a genuine and valid job offer.
    • Full time, paid, minimum 30 hours per week.
    • From Canadian employer
    • To work outside Quebec
    • The employer is not from an embassy, high commission, or consulate
    • There is a genuine need to hire
    • Also, the job offer must match the NOC code as per the LCP stream applied for.
  • Be able to do the job. Submit proof of any experience/training.
  • Have a minimum English/French language skill level. Submit test results for the same.
    • CLB 5 in English
    • NLCL 5 in French
  • Have a minimum education level.
    • Completed a minimum of 1 year of Canadian post-secondary educational credential, or
    • Have an ECA to prove foreign educational credentials match Canada’s education system.
  • Also, must be admissible in Canada.
  • Besides, As a permanent resident, the applicant must plan to live outside Quebec.

Applicants with less than 24 months of work experience

To qualify, meet other terms such as:

  • Have a genuine and valid job offer.
    • Full time, paid, minimum 30 hours per week.
    • From Canadian employer
    • To work outside Quebec
    • The employer is not from an embassy, high commission, or consulate
    • There is a genuine need to hire
    • Also, the job offer must match the NOC code as per the LCP stream applied for.
  • Be able to do the job. Submit proof of experience/training.
  • Work experience can be any 1 of the following:
    • Home child care provider (NOC 4411) or Home support worker (NOC 4412)
    • Also, it must not be a mix of both. And the job offer given must match the applicant’s work experience.
  • Have a minimum English/French language skill level. Submit test results for the same.
    • CLB 5 in English
    • NLCL 5 in French
  • Have a minimum education level.
    • Completed a minimum of 1 year of Canadian post-secondary educational credential, or
    • Have an ECA to prove foreign educational credentials match Canada’s education system.
  • Also, must be admissible in Canada.
  • Besides, as a permanent resident, the applicant must plan to live outside Quebec.

 

Applicants with 24 months or more work experience gained within 36 months

To qualify, meet the following terms:

  • Have minimum work experience of 24 months within 26 months. Also, work experience must have been gained in:
    • Home child care provider – NOC 4411
    • Home support worker – NOC 4412
  • In addition, work experience must be paid, full-time (30 hours per week0 and does not have to be regular. Besides, the work experience gained as a student is not counted.
  • Have a minimum English/French language skill level. Submit test results for the same.
    • CLB 5 in English
    • NLCL 5 in French
  • Have a minimum education level.
    • Completed a minimum of 1 year of Canadian post-secondary educational credential, or
    • Have an ECA to prove foreign educational credentials match Canada’s education system.
  • Also, must be admissible in Canada.
  • Besides, as a permanent resident, the applicant must plan to live outside Quebec.


Note

Home Child Care Provider Pilot

Canada as of now has received a minimum of 2,750 applications under this program. As a result, Canada is currently not:

  • Taking new applications for 2021.
  • All extra applications will be returned and refunded.

This pilot program will reopen on Jan 01, 2022. However, in the meantime, you can apply through other Canada Caregivers Programs. Besides, caregivers who are already in Canada can apply for PR through the latest Temporary Residence to Permanent Residence Pathway for Essential Workers.

To apply from outside Canada for a work permit

  1. Get a valid job offer.
  2. Get the instruction guide to fill out all forms correctly. Because one small error can result in rejection of your application.
  3. Complete the online application.
  4. Pay your application fees
  5. Submit a complete and error-free work permit application.
  6. Besides, if your application is approved you will get a letter confirming the same. However, you will get a work permit when you arrive in Canada.

Occupation Restricted Open Work Permit

To qualify for PR, you need work experience on a closed work permit as a temporary foreign worker in Canada.

On this work permit:

  • Work as a Home Child Care Provider (NOC 4411) and Home Support Worker (NOC 4412)
  • Work for any employer in Canada.
    • However, you cannot work for an employer who is on the list of employers who fail to meet the terms, or
    • Offer services that are erotic in nature.
  • The Canadian employer does not need an LMIA to hire you.
  • Also, you can change an employer without getting a new job offer or a new work permit.
  • And dependants can apply for an open work permit or a study permit.


Work experience required to apply for permanent residence application

Apply for permanent residence in Canada after getting a minimum work experience of 24 months under the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot. Also, submit proof of the same. Further, after getting the work experience, apply to IRCC for Canada PR.
