The Express Entry System is an online system for selecting skilled foreign immigrants. This helps Canada to select the best profiles to fill its labour market and economic growth needs.

“If you have the right skills, then Canada is looking for you”.

You can apply in the EE system through the following streams:

  1. Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC)
  2. Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)
  3. Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

On Feb 5, Canada issued 3500 invitations to skilled immigrants who meet the CRS cut off 472.

What is a CRS Score in the Express Entry System?

Express Entry system follows a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). It is a point-based system that helps you to check if your profile is eligible for Canada Immigration. With the help of these points, Canada govt gives you an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a Canada visa.

What are the CRS factors to calculate your points?

CRS points:

  1. Age (Max 12 points)
  2. Education (Max 25 points)
  3. Language Skills (English/French) (Max 28 points)
  4. Adaptability (15 points)
  5. Work Experience (Max 15 points)
  6. Job Offer Letter (Max 10 points)

To qualify for Express Entry, you need to get a min CRS score of 67 points out of 100.

Canada selects high scoring profiles from its regular draws. And these draws have profiles from all 3 streams under the EE System. There is a min 6-month period for processing of profiles in the EE system. If Canada govt selects your profile then you will receive an ITA. You must apply to Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for getting a permanent residence visa.
