Express Entry Draw Mar 23 2020
Canada held its latest Canadian Experience Class (CEC) specific Express Entry. This draw is the second of its kind since 2015.
In the latest CEC draw, Canada govt invited 3,232 candidates to apply for permanent residence. And these invitations were given to applicants from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) stream under the Express Entry(EE) system. Also, CEC is one of the 3 main immigration programs under the EE system. The other two are the Federal Skilled Worker Program and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
Latest draw one of its kind since 2015
Usually, all Express Entry draw includes invitations for all its 3 categories. But this time it is rarely seen that Canada has announced draw results for specifically CEC stream. In addition, this is the second draw since 2015. Earlier on March 18 Canada held its EE draw and invited 668 applicants who had a provincial nomination. Furthermore, the recent Immigration Levels Plan 2020-2022 shows that the country will welcome 1 million immigrants in the next 3 years. As a result, we can expect more frequent draws and a high number of selection of applications for a Canada PR.
If you applied to CEC and receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) then you must have met all the qualifying terms. These terms include factors such as age, education, work experience, and language skills. Unlike other invitation rounds that include applications from the EE pool, the cut-off CRS score is always high. Whereas in stream specific draws such as CEC, there are chances of a lower CRS cut-off. As a result, the 467 CRS score was the lowest this year in all EE draw, which was 470.
In conclusion, the latest draw brings the total number of invites issued till now in the Express Entry (EE) system to 22,600.
Note
The tie break for Mar 23 draw was Nov 15, 2019, at 14:00:35 UTC. This means that all CEC applicants with above 467 CRS scores, as well as Express Entry profiles with 467 score, who entered the EE pool before this date and time, would have received an ITA for a Canada PR.
