Eight NOIs issued in Alberta AAIP draw

April 25, 2023: Eight NOIs issued in Alberta AAIP draw

Eight NOIs issued in Alberta AAIP draw targeting applicants from the healthcare sector. This is the first time we are seeing the province issue such a small number of NOIs. However, one must also notice that the current draw is the 5th AAIP Express Entry draw in the month of April.

Thus, even if Alberta picked just 8 candidates the frequency of draws is higher than ever. And in the past draws we do see a significant rise in the selection of applicants for a provincial nomination.

Besides, to qualify in the current draw, applicants needed to meet the following conditions:

  • Firstly, have an active Express Entry (EE) profile.
  • Secondly, have applied to 1 of the EE sub-streams such as:
    • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
    • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
    • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Also, meet Human Capital Factors:
    • Age
    • Education
    • Work Experience
    • Language Skills
  • Besides, apply to AAIP and meet draw terms such as:
    • Apply to the AAIP-designated Healthcare Pathway.
    • Have a job offer from Alberta.
    • Have a minimum of 300 CRS scores to be eligible for AAIP.
    • Also, the CRS score range is 300-500.
  • Finally, have a minimum of 316 CRS score to get an NOI.

Eight NOIs issued in Alberta AAIP draw and now the selected applicants can further apply for a PNP nomination. As their profile is linked to the EE System, upon getting a nomination they will get an extra 600 CRS score. This will be added to their CRS rank in the EE pool. As a result, their ultimate goal of getting an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a Canada PR visa will be met faster than non-EE applicants.
