CRS score drops 3 points in 2nd General Express Entry draw

Jan 23, 2024: CRS score drops 3 points in 2nd General Express Entry draw for this year. But with it, we see 1040 ITAs being issued by Canada to successful PR applicants. The complete details of the current draw are as follows:

  • Firstly, we see IRCC issues 1040 ITAs for permanent residency.
  • Secondly, the CRS cut-off is 543.
  • Also, the tie-breaking rule is set at:
    • January 23, 2024, at 16:08:03 UTC.
  • Besides, applicants can qualify if their profile is under 1 of the EE sub-streams:
    • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
    • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
    • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • And meet Human Capital Factors such as:
    • Age
    • Education
    • Work Experience
    • Language Skills
  • Finally, can match or exceed the CRS cut-off.

Looking at the above details we can see a positive fall in the CRS cut-off. But a slight fall in invites for Canada PR is not something alarming. This can be easily assessed when we look at the first 2024 Express Entry General draw held on Jan 10, 2024.

Both draw comparisons and hint at a higher fall in CRS score. However, we should expect a rise in the selection of applicants. In addition, it will be exciting to see when Canada will hold draws for the remaining Express Entry (EE) System draw types such as:

  • FSW draw.
  • FST draw.
  • CEC draw.
  • PNP draw.
  • Category based draws:
    • French speaking
    • Trade occupations
    • Agri-food & agriculture occupations
    • Healthcare occupations
    • STEM occupations
    • Transportation occupations.

So, one can see that as a Canada PR visa aspirant, applicants have multiple options to claim permanent residency. 1040 applicants get ITA in the 2nd General Express Entry draw.
