Canada makes history holds Express Entry FSW draw

Feb 02, 2023: Canada makes history holds Express Entry FSW draw

For the first time in Canadian immigration, Canada makes history holds Express Entry FSW draw. Since the beginning of the Express Entry (EE) draws on Jan 31, 2015, Canada has held the following types of EE draws:

  • General draws
  • FST draws
  • CEC draws
  • PNP draws

For the first time, Canada targeted the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) category. And issued a total of 3,300 ITAs. Also, the CRS cut-off is set at 489.

Looking at the new update, we can expect the country to continue to hold such targeted draws. As per past EE updates in 2022, we should soon expect EE draws to be based on occupations in demand, and other such key factors. And not just the CRS cut-off being the sole measure for the selection of applicants for Canada PR.

Besides, in comparison to the last Feb 01, 2023, EE PNP draw, we can see the following updates:

  • ITAs are up by 2,407 points.
  • Also, the CRS cut-off is lower by 244 points.

However, when we compare the current draw with Jan 18, 2023, EE General draw we can see that the:

  • ITAs are lower by 2,200 points.
  • Also, the CRS cut-off is lower by 1 point.

In short, it will be wise to say that as per these new updates, Canada will be able to fast-track the selection of PR applicants. And will be able to easily meet its 2023 Immigration Levels Target of 465,000
