Canada Launches RCIP and FCIP makes RNIP Permanent

Honourable Marc Miller, Immigration Minister of Canada, shares great news. As Canada Launches RCIP and FCIP makes RNIP Permanent. The key highlights of the recent announcement are:

  • Launching Rural Community Immigration Pilot
  • French Community Immigration Pilot
  • The Rural Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) program is now permanent.
  • Both RCIP and FCIP open up in the fall of 2024.
  • However, the community application process begins in the spring of 2024.

Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP)

This program will launch in the fall of this year and aims to continue to spread the benefits of immigration to rural communities. This way they can meet their labour market needs and grow their economy. In addition, applicants will be able to successfully move to these communities on a Canada PR visa.

Besides, thanks to RNIP we can see a positive rise in applicants seeking permanent residency via community pilot programs.

French Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP)

The new pilot program targeting francophones (French-speaking people) outside Quebec is a brilliant move by Canada. Because this will help the French-speaking communities to flourish outside the area of Quebec. Also, they will be able to fill their job profiles with ease and can grow their economy.

Besides, this attempt comes from Canada’s commitment to growing Francophone communities. And helping them connect with other French-speaking applicants who wish to settle and grow in their communities.

Why launch RCIP and FCIP and make RNIP permanent?

The idea of launching RCIP and FCIP is correlated to the success of RNIP. Looking at the past performance of RNIP we can see:

  • Firstly, as of Dec 31, 2023, 4,595 applicants received Canada PR under RNIP.
  • Secondly, this helped the communities meet labour shortages under:
    • Healthcare
    • Accommodation & Food Services
    • Retail
    • Manufacturing
    • Scientific & Technical services etc.
  • This is also the reason why as of Feb 21, 2024, the deadline for RNIP communities to endorse applicants has been extended till July 31, 2024.

With such a success rate, it was obvious for Canada to launch RCIP and FCIP programs. And also make RNIP a permanent program.

Canada has yet to share complete details on RCIP and FCIP, the participating communities and the application process. However, we should expect to hear about the same soon.

The country is using all attempts to select more applicants for Canada PR visas. New programs, and new policies all favour the permanent residency process. In short, take our Free Assessment or Contact Us to know more.
