Canada is taking fresh applications for caregiver program in 2024

Jan 01, 2024: The new year opens with positive news for caregivers. Yes, Canada is taking fresh applications for the Caregiver Pilot Program in 2024. Now this means the cap for taking new applications is reset. If you wish to get permanent residency in Canada as a caregiver, then this program is the best for you.

 

The following key points will help you understand the Canada immigration update quickly and easily:

  • Firstly, from Jan 01, 2024, you can apply to the Caregiver Pilot Program for a PR visa.
  • Secondly, under this program, you can apply to either Home Childcare Provider Pilot or Home Support Worker Pilot.
    • However, these 2 caregiver pilot programs were launched in 2019 and will expire on June 17, 2024.
    • So, you must apply to this program as soon as possible.
  • Besides, as per IRCC in 2023, the 1000 slots for Home Childcare Provider Pilot were full. But the Home Support Worker Pilot still has empty slots.
  • Thus, now the cap is reset. You must make haste and submit an error-free application as a caregiver.
  • In addition, IRCC has reduced the work experience requirements for caregivers applying to this program:
    • Earlier you must have a minimum of 24 months of work experience to apply.
    • But now you need to have a minimum of 12 months of experience to apply.
    • As per Canada Caregiver’s full-time work experience refers to 30 hours per week.
    • Also, you can gain this work experience within 36 months before applying to the Caregiver program.
    • Besides, your work experience must come under NOC 44100 or 44101.
  • Also, have a minimum language skill level of CLB 5 in English and or French.
  • Have a minimum of 1 year of post-secondary education in Canada or overseas.
  • Moreover, you must clear all criminal, security, and health checks.

 

 

 

What to do if you can not get PR by applying to the Caregiver program in 2024?

Canada is taking fresh applications for the Caregiver program in 2024. But what if you do not qualify to apply? In such a case as per IRCC, you can get a work permit extension under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). Also, under the TFWP you will have to:

  • Get an LMIA-approved job offer as a caregiver.
  • Submit an error-free Canada work permit application.
  • Finally, get a closed work permit.

 

So, Canada is giving you two opportunities to succeed in Canada as a caregiver. Because you will get a good job and pay. You can also get your family members on a PR visa.
