British Columbia Tech Pilot draw invites 92 applicants for a Canada PR

On April 21, 2020, British Columbia held its tech pilot draw where it issued 92 Invitations to Apply (ITA) for applicants from the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP’s) Tech Pilot program.

Applicants selected in this draw had a job offer in British Columbia (B.C’s) technology sector. These applicants were chosen from Skilled Worker and International Graduate sub-streams under the Skills Immigration and Express Entry B.C streams. Besides, to quality applicants needed a qualifying Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 85 in this draw.

British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)

The BC PNP selects skilled foreign workers with the skills, knowledge and experience to grow the province. Also, it helps B.C meet its labour market and economic needs. This system is point-based and if you received an ITA then it means you meet the BC PNP program terms such as language skills level, education level, work experience in B.C, a permanent job offer from a B.C employer etc.

If you were selected in this draw then it means you applied to BC PNP under one of the following streams:

  • Skills Immigration (SI) stream
    • SI – Skilled Worker
    • SI – International Graduate
  • Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) stream
    • EEBC – Skilled Worker
    • EEBC – International Graduate

After receiving an ITA you must apply to BC PNP for nomination to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

So far, British Columbia has issued 2,353 ITA in 2020.

Note – In most of BC PNP streams, you need to have a permanent job offer from a B.C employer to be eligible for Canada immigration.
