British Columbia (B.C) issues 311 invites for a provincial nomination for Canada PR

On Mar 30, 2020, British Columbia held its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw. It issued 311 Invitation to Apply (ITA). If you have received an ITA in this draw then you can now apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence.

British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)

The BC PNP is one of Canada’s immigration programs. It helps B.C. select foreign skilled workers who can meet the province’s labour market and economic needs. In addition, this program is linked to the Express Entry system.

Express Entry is one of Canada’s main immigration pathways. And it manages profiles from 3 main economic-class immigration programs such as:

• Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP)
• Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
• Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Furthermore, if you apply to Express Entry then your profile gets a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. This score is given as per Human Capital Factors such as:

• Firstly, your age.
• Secondly, your education level
• And your language skills
• Also, your work Experience

In the Mar 30 BC PNP draw, applicants were required to have an active Express Entry profile. If you receive a nomination in Express Entry British Columbia PNP, then your profile will get an extra 600 CRS. As this guarantees an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in the federal Express Entry (EE) draw.

The Skills Immigration category comes under the BC PNP. This stream is for skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in high demand in the province. To apply to both the categories of BC PNP, you must apply through the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). This system scores profiles as per factors such as job offer, location in B.C., education, language skills, and wage.

The minimum qualifying score for BC PNP was between 102 and 105.
