Austria has an area of 83,858 sq.km, it is a landlocked country bordered to the north by the Czech Republic, to the northeast by Slovakia, to the east by Hungary, to the south by Slovenia, to the southwest by Italy, to the west by Switzerland and Liechtenstein, and to the northwest by Germany. Austria is the only European Union nation that is not a member of NATO. The official language of the country is German and it is famous for its cultural heritage, coffee and the alps. Among the 193 nation of the world, Austria is placed in number 92 in terms of its population, which was estimated to be 8,151,000 in the year 2005 by the United Nations (UN).
Education
Austria is one of the cheapest country to study in Europe. Courses are available both in English and , German. Austria is an ideal place to study for students who are interested in German language. The country provides great culture, memorable social experience and diversity for foreign students.
Private universities are quite expensive compared to government ones. Each universities allows both national and international students educational program that focuses on professional education by providing:-

IELTs requirement
For many programs proof of proficiency in German is important. If your course is in English language, you will required to prove your proficiency in English. The University of Kent accepts 6.5 band in IELTS with a minimum of 6.0 in reading and writing
Visa Requirement.
Visas or residency permit is not required for nationals of EU and EEA member countries as well as Swiss nationals, however if staying in Austria for more than three months they have to apply for a confirmation of registration Anmeldebescheinigung at the immigration office (Landeshaupmann, Magistrat, Bezirkshauptmannschaft) within 3 months of entry to Austria.
Other foreigners, have to apply for a residence permit for study purposes at the Austrian representative authority before entering Austria and after receipt of the notification of admission. The application needs to sent to Austria. Applicants who are allowed to enter Austria without a visa may apply for and receive the residence permit from the Immigration Office once they are in Austria.
