British Columbia holds 7th BC PNP Skills Immigration draw of 2023. The province selected up to 236 applicants for provincial nomination. And the details of the Feb 16, 2023, BC PNP 2-part draw series are as the following:

Draw 1

• Firstly, 183 applicants have an ITA for the PNP nomination
• Secondly, applicants from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate and EEBC option have an ITA.
• Besides, the draw cut-off is 83.
• Also, the draw targeted applicants whose job profile comes under 1 of the 36 targeted Tech occupations.

Draw 2

Upto 53 applicants have an ITA for PNP nomination. The breakdown for the same is as the following:

Skilled Worker, International Graduate with EEBC

• 29 applicants have an ITA.
• Applicants whose job profile comes under Childcare: Early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 42202) have an ITA.

Skilled Worker, International Graduate including EEBC option

• 20 applicants have an ITA.
• Applicants whose job profile comes under 39 targeted Healthcare occupations have an invitation.

International Graduate including EEBC option with Skilled Worker category

• Less than 5 applicants have an ITA.
• Applicants whose job profile comes under the following NOCs have an ITA:
  • 31103 Veterinarians
  • 32104 Animal health technologists and veterinary technicians

2023 British Columbia BC PNP draws

The BC PNP program is British Columbia’s pathway for getting foreign skilled workers to grow its labour market and economy. BC PNP has both Base and Enhanced PNP sub-streams. And the Skills Immigration and EEBC category are enhanced PNP sub-streams linked to the Express Entry (EE) System.

This means applicants who get selected under these categories have an active Express Entry profile. Also, when they get a nomination against their EE profile, an addition of 600 CRS points is added to their profile in the EE pool. Thus, applicants who get a nomination via BC PNP enhanced PNP sub-streams have a higher chance of getting an ITA for a Canada PR visa.

As of now, the current draw is the 7th BC PNP draw of 2023. However, if we look at the past draws then we can see some significant changes in the invitations issued and draw cut-offs. Let us compare BC PNP Feb 14, 2023, and Feb 07, 2023, draws.

• We can see 23 points fall in the issuing of invitations in draw 1 of the current draw.

7th BC PNP Skills Immigration draw issues 236 ITAs. However, applicants who have an ITA for PNP nomination meet the following terms:

• Firstly, have an active and valid profile in the Express Entry (EE) System.
• Secondly, applied to 1 of the EE sub-streams:
  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
• Also, meet Human Capital Factors:
  • Age
  • Education
  • Work Experience
  • Language Skills
• Besides, meet the term of the BC PNP category they are applying to:
  • Skilled Worker
  • International Graduate
  • EEBC
• Finally, match or exceed the BC PNP draw cut-off for the category they have applied through.

Moreover, after getting an ITA they will have to submit a complete and error-free PNP application to BC PNP. If they get a nomination against their EE profile then they will get an extra 600 CRS score in the EE pool. This raises their chances of clearing an Express Entry periodic draw. As a result, in today’s time, everyone is opting to apply for a Canada PR Visa via the Express Entry + PNP Pathway.
