Canada via its most popular Express Entry (EE) System selected 2,750 applicants. Also, to qualify the applicants needed a CRS score of 516 or more. Besides, the tie-breaking rule applied to this draw is set as April 16, 2022, at 18:24:41 UTC. If more than one applicant matches the CRS cut-off, then IRCC issues ITAs based on the date and time when the EE profile was created. 

The current draw is the 5th draw since the resumption of EE all-program draws. And consistently as predicted we see a rise in the ITAs and a fall in the CRS cut-off. As the current draw again is a general draw then applicants from the FSW/FST/CEC/PNP categories could qualify for an ITA.

In comparison to the EE timelines, we see 250 points rise in ITAs. However, the Aug 31, 2022 EE draw saw a jump of 700 points in ITAs. Whereas the CRS cut-off has been dropping by 8-9 points. And we are expecting the CRS cut-off to fall at a faster rate in the upcoming draws.

Who has an ITA in the new Express Entry (EE) all program draw?

If you have an ITA in this new Aug 31, 2022, EE draw, then it is because you have:

• Applied to 1 of the EE sub-streams such as the:
  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
• Also, meet Human Capital Factors:
  • Age
  • Education
  • Work Experience
  • Language Skills
• Finally, have a CRS score of 516 or more.

Now that you have an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for submitting a Canada PR visa application, you will have 60 days to do the same. At this time, you must submit a complete and error-free application with all required supporting documents. Post this IRCC will further process your application if found satisfactory you will get a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).

Express Entry (EE) draws – The road ahead!

From the slow pausing of draws and 18 weeks wait period in resumption a lot of speculations have been made regarding the ITAs and the CRS cut-off. Every industry expert has been expecting a higher cut-off. However, the astonishing part of the July 06, 2022 draw was the lower number of ITAs issued.

This sparked a conversation amongst immigration experts about how lower and how far are we looking at the draw figures to come down to the pre-covid timelines. And all experts to a certain extent agreed upon the occasional jumps in the selection of people. But everyone is hopeful of an iconic move by Canada such as the Feb 13, 2021, CEC draw, which issued 27,332 ITAs with a CRS cut-off requirement of 75.

Such a historic move can be easily expected from Canada. However, this is a shot in the dark now. But for sure we must expect IRCC to issue up to 4000-5000 ITAs per draw. The same has been the pre-covid EE draw figures such as the Dec 23, 2020, all-program draw. The draw selected 5000 applicants with a CRS cut-off set at 468.

In conclusion, we should expect the CRS cut-off to come down to 468 by the end of November 2022.
