3,311 Express Entry CEC applicants invited for Permanent Residence

On May 1, IRCC selected 3,311 applicants in the Express Entry (EE) draw under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) stream. The selected applicants had a minimum CRS score of 452.

The latest EE draw is this year’s 8th program-specific draw. The tie-breaker rule used in this draw was October 10, 2019, at 19:15:28 UTC. This means applicants who submitted their profile before this time and date with 452 CRS score and profiles with a CRS score higher than 452, received an Invitation to Apply (ITA). The CRS score too fell 3 points as compared to April 16 CEC draw that had a CRS score of 455.

Canada immigration draws frequently targeting program-specific draws

The latest CEC draw has brought the total number of ITA issued so far to 34,300. Looking at the current trends Canada is targeting applicants from the Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) and CEC streams. As of now, 8 program-specific draws have been held. Whereas earlier Canada was focusing on all program draws under the EE system. The last all program draw was on March 4 which invited 3900 applicants with a minimum CRS score of 471.

The EE system is one of the main Canada Immigration pathways. It handles applications from 3 major economic immigration streams such as:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Under this system, applicants get a ranking as per Human Capital Factors such as age, language skills, education level and work experience. Applicants with the highest CRS score are invited to apply for nomination for permanent residence in Canada in EE draws.

In case an applicant has a provincial nomination against its EE profile then it receives an extra 600 CRS score. This guarantees that the applicant will receive an ITA to apply for a Canada PR.

In short, the positive Canada immigration trends indicate that the frequency of these draws will only increase. Anyone who is looking to move to Canada must apply now. As the country is more than open and welcoming to offer permanent residence.
